Theo van Hensbergen has been the managing director of Excellence in Practice Ltd since its foundation in 1999. An honours graduate in social sciences, Theo enjoyed a wide ranging management career, including assignments in international corporate banking, human resources, marketing, company secretarial, communications, life assurance and business excellence. He has extensive practical experience of performance management solutions. From 1995 to 1999, as a member of the executive board of NatWest's Life and Investment businesses, he was responsible for development, implementation and deployment of business excellence disciplines. In 1996 and 1997 NatWest Life achieved finalist status in both the prestigious UK and European Quality Awards. Theo has more than 15 years practical experience of applying the EFQM Excellence Model™ within a variety of organisations. He has also been a frequent senior assessor in the EFQM, UK, Regional and intra-company excellence awards.
